Genre: Dystopian

Series: Matched #1

The short story:

Cassia is a young girl living in a society where everything is pre-determined for you, in order to ensure a life without stress. On her 17th birthday, she participates in the Matching Ceremony where her personality data, which has been collected her whole life, is entered into a matching pool to pick out her perfect Match. Everybody is surprised when that Match turns out to be her best friend Xander, whom she’s known since grade school. However, things aren’t what they seem when she turns on her port the next day to read her Match’s profile…and the face of another boy, Ky, appears. As Cassia starts to question her entire life, including her feelings for both boys, she starts to see the Society in a whole new light.

My thoughts

I know this isn’t a new book, but I love me a good Dystopian series and this has been on my list a good while. It did not disappoint! I couldn’t put it down, and read it in only a few days. It’s fast paced and it dives right into the turmoil without spending too much time on the love drama. In the style of Hunger Games and Divergent it really makes you think about how different life could be. If  you like this style of book, I definitely recommend picking it up.

I give it 4/5 stars
