Genre: Dystopian

Series: The Forgetting #1

The short story:

Every twelve years, the forgetting happens. A bright light flashes across the sky and everybody forgets everything…who they are, who their family is, everything they’ve ever learned. Everyone except for Nadia that is. She has only lived through one forgetting when she was little, but she didn’t forget like everybody else. Worse, she knows things that everybody doesn’t know because they forgot….like her Dad isn’t dead, he just remembered a new wife. They are supposed to write the truth down in their journals, but sometimes the truth is what you want it to be. As the next Forgetting gets closer, Nadia has to try and figure out why the Forgetting happens and how she can stop her family from forgetting her again.

My thoughts

I liked this book. I’m a big fan of Dystopian novels, and this one didn’t fail. There is the obvious love story in there, but that’s to be expected…it helps drive the plot. There were a lot of twists that didn’t seem forced and weren’t too crazy. It made me want to keep reading and find out what was going to happen. I was really excited to find out there is a sequel coming soon that’s told from different perspectives.

I give it 4/5 stars
